Bhabiram Boro
Meet Bhabiram Boro, a talented keyboardist and integral member of FolkAGeet. Affectionately known as Bhabi Da, he began his musical journey over three decades ago as a skilled tablist. An All India Radio graded artist, Bhabiram performed with a wide range of musicians before transitioning to the keyboard, which became his true passion. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with renowned artists like Rupam Bhuyan and Pulak Banerjee. Beyond his musical expertise, Bhabi Da is admired for his unwavering love for music, his resilience, and his kind heart. He lives in Guwahati with his wife and son.
Rupam Kalita
Introducing Rupam Kalita, the dynamic percussionist and tablist driving the rhythm of FolkAGeet. A seasoned artist in Assam's vibrant music scene, Rupam has performed on countless stages, both as a session musician and a core member of Rupam Bhuyan Unplugged. With a Master's degree in Tabla, he's also deeply skilled in traditional instruments like the Assamese dhol. His deep passion and commitment to music are key elements in shaping FolkAGeet's distinctive sound. Known for his sincerity and gentle nature, Rupam brings a warmth that enriches the FolkAGeet family.
Jyotismita Baishya
Introducing Jyotismita Baishya, a talented vocalist and an integral part of FolkAGeet. Hailing from Nalbari and now based in Guwahati, Assam, Jyotismita has been steadily carving a name for herself in the regional music scene. Alongside her dynamic stage performances, she has ventured into releasing original tracks, earning recognition in the process. In 2024, she was chosen as one of the featured singers for Chaya Chobi Chapter 3, marking a significant achievement in her career. She also teamed up with Jim Ankan Deka & Rupam Kalita for the Music Malt Live Sessions, where the trio beautifully reimagined classic Assamese songs and folk melodies.
Jim Ankan Deka
Meet Jim Ankan Deka, the award-winning composer, music producer and dynamic frontman of FolkAGeet. As the founder of Eastern Fare, a well-known music society in Bangalore, Jim has performed on countless stages, both as a session musician and a key member of bands like Veenar, Voodoo Child, and Tunetellers. With over 30 years of experience as a guitarist, and keyboardist, his passion and dedication have been instrumental in shaping FolkAGeet's unique sound, blending folk traditions with modern fusion.
Tripti Mona
Meet Tripti Mona, the powerhouse vocalist and bassist of FolkAGeet. With a long-standing presence in the Northeast Indian music scene, Tripti has graced numerous stages both as a solo artist and as a member of the bands Mellow Rush and Hiraeth. She has also released a few originals online. Her dedication and passion for music make her a key force behind FolkAGeet's unique sound. Despite her serious commitment to her craft, Tripti's fun and innocent nature brings warmth and charm to the FolkAGeet family.
